About

I’m glad you’re here! If you’re reading this, that means we already have something in common—a passion for building and designing guitar pedals.

My name is Grant Kelsay, and I’m the creator of PedalSmith. I’m a software engineer by trade based in Southern California, and I’ve spent the last few years playing in bands, recording music, and chasing great guitar tones.

Like a lot of builders, my curiosity led me down the rabbit hole of how these sounds are actually created. That eventually turned into designing and building my own pedals to use in real gigs and recordings.

While I enjoyed every part of the process—designing circuits, soldering, and assembling—there was one step I could never get quite right: enclosure layout.

To solve that problem, I designed my first drill jig to create consistent, clean layouts while still allowing flexibility for different builds. What started as a personal solution quickly turned into something more.

PedalSmith was created to design and sell tools specifically for DIY guitar pedal builders—helping makers save time, reduce errors, and build with confidence.

All products are designed and produced in small batches, with many items made to order.
